2009 Harvest is in full swing! Despite some interesting weather from a typhoon from Japan, we are thrilled to report that our harvest is going well here at Harris Estate Vineyards.
On October 6th, we picked Treva's Vineyard - the grapes were beautiful, the clusters had tiny, small berries - typical for Treva's Vineyard - and the flavors were all we could hope for. On October 17th, we harvested Lakeview Vineyard. Even with the rain a week before, the grapes suffered no splitting or damage and the extra week of hangtime proved to be exactly what was needed to get the flavors we wanted. Jake's Creek is still hanging. We hope to pick that by the end of October.
